Bark Control Collar – Size Matters, Not Just for Pet Comfort

There's this big dog that found a way around it bark control collar. Sandy's St.Bernard, Magnus, cavernous-big dog as he is, used to throw loud big barks at the front gate, where other dogs were visible from afar.
It sounded like he owned the street, and every other dog that he could see was violating Magnus' right.

So for this problem Sandy purchased a bark collar, to instill some needed big dog discipline. It worked for a week, a week of quiet. After that, the barking resumed – not the same but just as annoying. Magnus had gotten used to the shock's intensity level. When the dog barked, the static collar would release a buzz, a low volt annoying interruption, which the dog seems to have outsmarted.

So Magnus adapted, with a low whooping bark, as though he was whipping his head from one side to the other. Upon reflection, Sandy thought this was the dog's way to shake off his collar, to unsettle the nodes touching the dog's throat. Out came one whooping bark, and then a pause, and then the whooping would resume, like a beat.

The intensity setting on the collar had to be increased since the big dog was tough, and Sandy did just that – spiking it up just right. She also adjusted the collar, so it wouldn't have enough slack to slide around. This had the effect of stopping the big dog from barking. He couldn't shake the collar's nodes off. This meant a consistency in the static correction activation, since the nodes with constantly touching the dog's neck's skin.

Magnus was not happy about this – you can see it on his face. Once he tried to throw a whooping bark, he ended up with an odd, funny look on his face. Startled, he tried again. Yet, that funny look again. Days marched into weeks sans the barking – a quiet house it was. Magnus looked like he didn’t' mind not being able to bark like before, but with Sandy being happy about it Magnus probably didn't mind. That worked – he was the big bouncing cheerful dog he used to be, minus of course the big barking problem.
