Landscaper Technician Certifications – Everything You Need to Know

Many people enjoy working with flowers and landscaping, but haven't had the opportunity to go to college to study horticulture. If you're interested in becoming an industry-certified landscape technician, keep reading.

One of the first things you will need to do is join the Landscape Contractors Association so that you can look into the Landscape Industry Technician certification program. If you get certified, you will enhance your skills, investing in your future career.

In order to take the final certification test, you will have to do one of the following:

You will need to have over 4,000 hours worth of hands-on landscaping experience.

Complete a 2- or 4-year industry degree as well as work 2,000 hours as a landscaper.
Work 1,000 hours, have a 2- or 4- year industry degree, and complete an internship program.

In order to get certified, you will need to pass a comprehensive examination. You'll be assisted when doing so however.
