West Ridge Academy – The Answer To Teens Who Have Difficulty In Their Lives

West Ridge Academy has been helping young people deal with hardships since 1964. The former Utah Boys Ranch is a treatment center for the youth. The main office is in West Jordan, UT. With its elaborate outreach to teens from all walks of life, West Ridge Academy has the capacity to provide clinical services and education amongst other programs that can benefit teens who are at risk. The academy started out as co-ed but transitioned male in 2005. Troubled girls once again are not excluded from the benefits at West Ridge Academy. At West Ridge Academy, young people, age range of 9-17 years, get education and experiences that promote their esteem and spiritual awareness. The programs offered are aimed at guiding the youth in building personal accountability, change of attitude and developing an endurance to overcome and cope with challenging life experiences. The faith-based open-minded program also reaches out with mentor-ship and guidance to at-risk youth as young as five years of age. Most visitors are impressed by the size of West Ridge Academy especially if you pictured a mere cluster of buildings for dormitories and administration blocks. With eight buildings for the boys and a huge administrative block which has the offices and classrooms, the academy is a college style campus. On the same note, West Ridge Academy has an apartment for parents who need a place to stay when traveling from out of town and two fully equipped gymnasiums. West Ridge Academy is a Christian non-denominational treatment center for young people who are challenged by various issues that cause significant psychological problems. It is an appropriate center young people with rebellious and aggressive behavior. Students who are known to disregard parental authority or who have a long outpatient history, self-destructive behavioral issues or suicidal tendencies are encouraged to enroll at West Ridge Academy. Additionally, the programs offered at the school are also suited for students struggling with substance abuse, low self-esteem, sexual immorality and reduced personal motivation. Along with the state licensed clinical program, the school has also been granted NAAS accreditation. Therapists are at the West Ridge Academy have Master or Doctoral level credentials. The primary mentors are available in their dorm next to the students anytime you feel like you need some personal help.

Most of the on-site residents are Utah locals, with a smaller portion of students from other states. The program is primarily administrated by professionals local to Utah. Thanks to their assistance, West Ridge Academy had the opportunity to reach many different goals, such as being able to assist over 25,000 young people successfully complete their program. With this, the school can be regarded as having continually attained its goal of offering hope and healing to young boys and girls by providing them with necessary coping facilities in the moral, material and spiritual realms.
